for hire

Wanted:
A maid.
For tired exhausted mom.
House is a disaster.
Thinking of actually putting those FLYLADY emails to use.
Unless you wanna volunteer to come over and do it for me?
Perhaps watch my kids?
No?
Ok, flylady it is.

Easter 2012

Listening to my kids screaming. Tempted to lock them out on the porch just so I can sit and drink my coke (shhhh don't tell mister) and blog. But I'm afraid I may get in trouble for that one. ( read last post if you're confused on why)

Easter. Not one of my favorite holidays. In Utah the weather is soo unpredictable. Can't tell you how many Easter egg hunts we've had in a few inches of snow. Never been a fan of coloring Easter eggs either. A tradition I'm tempted to veto at the Abode cause I despise it THAT much. Plastic eggs are a good replacement. Besides would you rather have a plastic egg that's easy to open and is filled with goodies rather than a dumb hard boiled egg? (I do love a good hard boiled egg ironically...just dont like the work it takes.)

Found out that my sister in law's step son's homecoming was on Easter. So we decided to celebrate in a day early. Fun on Saturday then the spiritual part of Easter on Sunday. A tradition that I  think may just stay.
Saturday morning kids woke up to a bucket full of candy and a few other items. Kymber says "Christmas is better than Easter..." Well ya. Duh. But then I had to explain to her that  in a spiritual sense Christmas ans Easter go hand in hand. For a 5 1/2 year old Im pretty sure she understood for the most part.

Here's our little Easter egg hunt at the Palmer's...in the snow.

he finally figure out what it all meant. delighted little boy.

all he thought the eggs were were little balls. found out it had candy in it. became obsessed. SUGAR HIGH!

The mister ended up throwing his back out the evening before, so me and sis went with grandma and grandpa up to Aunt Glory's house without him and the boys.

Oh they were sooo cute for Easter....!!!

Becareful what you post on Facebook

Nothing more frustrating then typing up a lost post on an app in your phone only to find it not working the next day. It was supposed to be THIS post. May be a good idea anyway to not go into much detail about a few crazy current events happening at the abode...

Regarless of how much you think the people on your facebook "friend list" are all friends and that you think can say what you want on it without anyone caring...BIG LIE. Sorry if it is one of you that I am talking about. Actually Im not sorry. Here we go....

Facebook post a few weeks ago (paraphrased mind you) "Convinced the mister to changed the door knobs around on the kids doors. He said it may just be illegal. Eat that CPS! Its either that or something worse!" COMPLETE JOKE PEOPLE. Come on. If you know me AND my past you'd know this is merely just a mommy thing to say.  Well, long story short someone out there called the cops to do a well child check on me. Who, by the way, was very nice and trusted me and could see that I'm a good mom. Also I was informed it is NOT illegal. Just in case any of you were wondering....

I have never been so mad that I wanted to cry. What a judgement about my character and how I raise my children....

Oh the story isnt over yet.

Kymber went to her dad's for a weekend visit as she does every other weekend.
I recieved a text that Friday night from Sperm donor.

"I sure had an intersting conversation with Kymber tonight. One that I actually recorded because it was really pissing me off"
Me: oh how suprising coming from you... "And"
SD: "Well its going to get brought up in court and I have been really tempted to call dcfs. She was talking about how you and Alan changed the locks around on the door to her room to she cant get outin the morning. You want me to send you the recording? or do you just want to hear it when we go to court over the name change?
I am  freaking pissed about it. So I want you to know it better change quick.
Or I am pressing child abuse charges.
Me: fuming mad. some things never change.. "Actually it is not against the law. Authorities have been talked to already. It was changed so that my kids dont lock themselves in their room for the time being. I appreciate your concern but it has already been discussed"
SD: "Well I am still reporting it. Because it pissed me off! Its child abuse when you lock them in th overnight. If that is the case you need to buy door knobs that dont have locks. So sense you say it is so called 'NOT AGAINST THE LAW' I will be reporting it to dcfs. Just an FYI. "

and here is the kicker people...

SD: " You must have learned that one from your dad"

One stab strait to the heart. Those of you who know me know that as a child I was physically and sexually abused by my dad. Comparing me to the person I hate the most is probably one of the worst things you could ever do. Hurt me enough that I cannot stop thinking about it. HOW DARE YOU!!!

Another post more in depth later someday about what really happened in the past for those of you who are curious. Ive nothing to hide...

Enough on that. Ive vented. Now please tell me...I'm not a bad mother am I?

Continued updating and I even include picitures this time

Honestly I cant wait until Ive caught up with updating. Tired of talking about the past.
However, yesterday in Sunday school our lesson was on keeping a journal. Made me feel better I started the bloggy up again. At least for the kids sake.

Typing is more practical for me instead of pen and paper.

Finally updates to March. Here in our condo. Not huge. Cozy. Making it my own. One step at a time. March hasn't busy. AT ALL! With the unpacking and cleaning Ive hardly had time to decorate. Its taking me for longer than I had anticipated.

Note to self: Walmart sucks at matching and mixing  paint. NEVER go there again. Our once envisioned dark grey walls now look like "an old blueberry threw up on here"says the mister. Id post pictures of the bedroom, but you dont wanna see it. The room at the end where no one goes into and everything gets shoved in there. Yup thats ours. For now!

I will show you my kitchen though!

See? Also seee the craft mess on the table. Ignore that. But I love it. Its where I spend most of my time.

Ready for picture over load? Really thats all anyone REALLY cares about right?

Xander, sis, and me. After our swim in the pool. Oh how they love to make mom take pics with them

Xander and my cute 7 month old nephew Joseph. Xander is my little hear of gold kid. Whiny, but man this kids heart is bigger than most peoples.

Little stinker of a kid Zac. I really do have a major hot head on my hands. Worst temper and has magic hands. How?  Into everything and magically things disappear when he's around. Anyone wanna babysit him now?

This month my sister came to visit me for the weekend. She brought her month old baby Xavier with her. And I ate it up. I {heart} this little boy...

Xander, Zac, and Alex (Paulas little girl) Spring is finally here! And feeding the ducks was sooo much fun!

More pics to come....

Continued...

Long post. So if you are going to check my grammar and all that..STOP READING. When I write- I don't care. I just type.

Oct/November: Our close friends ended up getting a condo in another town right before she had her cute baby. When we went over there Alan fell in love with the clubhouse which includes a pool, hot tub, work out room, etc. And it's sooo much of a step up from the little basement apartment we were living in. Its not a huge place (the condo) but boy did we wanna jump on it. After all, there was no way we'd be committing to a regular house while Alan is going to school and us not knowing where we will be in 5 years. Long story short, we ended up settling on this condo. Smelly, pet urine infested carpet. Worst smell ever. Its only cosmetic...right? AND it was right below our friends!!! We kept our purchase on the D.L. really not wanting to cry wolf just in case nothing worked out, but 2 days before Christmas we got the word that it was all ours. Oh I couldn't get out of that basement soon enough!!!!! (Oh I almost forgot, there are pictures of the condo from when we looked at it on my FB if you haven't seen it yet-viewers beware)

December: Blah blah blah. Waiting. Packing. Cleaning. Christmas. Half Christmas? Barely felt like one. A. This year the snow was at an all time low. I HATE, no seriously....H-A-T-E snow, however doesn't everyone dream of a white Christmas? Honestly, I'm suprised the tree even made it up. Our little stinker Zac tore down most of the ornaments anyway, so the poor thing looked hopeless (the tree, not the child). B. Our abode being half packed was awful. If you've moved. You feel me.Oh and I had a birthday. Turned 25. Not so old. Totally forget how old I am ALL THE TIME. Never thought that would happen.

January: Had to be out of the basement apartment by the end of January so we got to go move in with my in laws for a few weeks. Dreaded it. Ended up not being so bad. Actually kind of nice.....oh she helped me soo much with the kids. Makes me second guess the whole "sister wife" thing hmmmmm....

February: And we get word to move the weekend before Valentines. I'll spare you boring moving and cleaning pee carpet details. Needless to say it is end of March now and we are STILL working on that.

More to come. Again. Keep reading. Oh how I love to keep you hanging. Oh shoot I forgot to add pictures to this one. Makes for an awesome post later.

Another one of those cliche posts about catching up

Seems like the start of my last couple blogs have been all about "catching up on my little family" While I seriously think it'd be dumb to do yet another one of those, it is a must. While I'm committed to blogging once a week again. First thing I should really do is update our picture up there. Way outdated.
Last I wrote was October. Soooo much has happened and I got caught up in "life" so to speak. I left blogging world for a while to live the life I write of.
October 18th: Sissy's birthday. Her 5th. Arrow to my heart strings. Baby girl is growing up. Her party wasnt a big one, but her princess cake made it for her. How I wish I would have blogged about it when it happened so that I could write down memories from it and what she got. All I remember is the cake. Little lady was beyond pleased.

October 22:  I recall this date with bittersweet feelings. Woke up that morning thinking my lucky number is 22. Not sure why I remember that. By this time I was around 8 weeks pregnant. Could be more excited. I hadn't really told anyone but a few friends and family. I usually shout it to the whole world but something inside of me kept it mostly to myself. Later that day I was feeling weird and my back and stomach hurt. You see, I have had miscarriages before so I am very paranoid. I called my midwife for some reassurance and she has suggested that if I feel I need to I should go to the ER just to make sure. While I really didn't wanna cry wolf- something inside me said go. So I called Alan and made him come home from work and off we went to Payson. After getting some tests done and given morphine through my Iv ( best stuff ever by the way!) the Xray/ Ultrasound guy came in to get me. Lo and behold it was the same man who wheeled me in not less than 2 years earlier when I found out the bittersweet news that we had lost a baby I didn't know I had but we still had a strong heartbeat from another. Drugged I lightly made a joke of him being cursed. He made a joke I cant even remember. Something like he hopes he has good news. I was confident, after-all, last time we left with something....right? After getting an external US he said he couldn't see anything but that maybe it was too early to so an internal Ultrasound was needed. Yahoo. Glad I was drugged. Again the screen was blank. Nothing. An empty uterus. Long story short, tears were cried (drugs never help any as it is) and slowly we went home. Confused. Lost. Hurt. I don't even know. The 3rd miscarriage. I have come a long way since then. After all it has been months. 5 months exactly actually in a few days. Still no success on making another little one. The "fertile Leah" is now.... feeling very infertile. This makes 7 months of trying to have a baby but zero luck. I, however, am feeling extremely blessed. I can say I actually have children. 3 to be exact. 3 little blessings.  Some can't even have kids. I am beyond blessed with family and friends. I have come to realize that things happen when they are supposed to. The LORD is really in control.

MORE TO COME! KEEP READING!!!!

Halflife Crisis

You always hear about one having a mid life crisis. Say you live until you are 80. Um that makes your crisis at age 40. Maybe it's me but does someone really only go through a "mid life crisis" once in their lifetime? Seriously? Kudos to that individual.

As a PROUD "Mormon Mommy" I find myself having one of those crisis moments today. I'm only 24 years old ( almost 25) ugh writing that makes me realize how young I really am... and I have 3 beautiful babies. Oh and I've been married for 3 1/2 years. Putting it down on paper makes me realize how I prob shouldn't complain because really for 1. I'm still young. and  2. I still have a lot going for me. Reading my old posts about looking for a house sent me into a mode. Quarter life. crisis. mommy. mode.

Finding myself worrying about loans and money and the future and making a life for myself and while wining the race would be great, right now I'd just like to be a contender! I know what youre thinking- "what is she talking about?? making a life for herself?? I know I'm stirring up someone. Ok. Let me explain. I'm a stay at home mom 24/7. While I ABSOLUTELY love my "job" and my kids I couldn't really ask for more. doting husband who works hard to make sure I can stay  as well. However don't you every find yourself wondering what else??

Living an Auto pilot. I wanna spice up my life a little. Is it too much to ask? I would love to be known as someone else besides "mommy" i love being called mommy most days with their sweet little voices however...One of my biggest dreams since as long as I can remember was to be a photographer. I finally have a decent camera and I am getting better. Now while I could never make it a living given as there are so many more talented ladies out there and let's face it where I love you have photographers everywhere you look. All those mommy's who realized their dream a long time ago. Now it's a dog eat dog carreer.

I would also LOVE a house. My own home. Where I can paint and decorate. Until then I will settle for this basement apartment house hole that we love in. It does us good. Family members live upstairs so there is always someone there for ya. Bittersweet topic it is for me since we were on that mortgage path once a blue moon ago but ended suddenly when no name got cold feet and decided to change careers. So now we start over. And the wait begins again. It's not keeping up with the Jones's by any means.

MORE RANT TO COME.... tune in again.
Bring on the criticism.

New Life

Last Monday I got to experience another incredible blessing Heavenly Father decided to give. Not my personal blessing but my brother's.

On Monday morning I got a text from my brother to come up and help them. I text them and he asked if I could help time contractions. Um you dont have to ask me twice! Sure enough it didn't take me a few contractions to advise them to go to the hospital. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed that the baby chose this day to come. The first day Alan has school and Monday s at work for him are always a drag. Jake and Stef headed to the hospital while I tried to figure out what the heck to do with my kids. A while later i got a text from Jake saying she went from up 2 cent in 2 hours. By that time I'm panicking because I was going to be in the waiting him waiting for the baby. So what to do with those babies???....Mother in law was at work so I got the help of my dear friend to watch my kids for a few hours. Bless her 7 month pregnant heart. (My MIL was to pick them up on her way home)
Thinking we had limited time I headed to the hospital as fast as I could. Stef's parents and sister were supposed to be in town but because baby decided to come a week early no one was prepared. They were also on their way here from California. When the time came and Stef's mom wasn't there she asked if I could be in the delivery room with them. Um of course!  Baby Joesph ended up not making his debut until almost 8 that evening. I prob wouldn't have bailed to the hospital so early but hindsight is 20/20. And babies pretty much have their own  schedule.
By the time he got here poor stef was exhausted. Pushing for an hour and a half. Lots of waiting. Lots of blood pressure scares. In the end it was an emotional amazing experience. We all shed tears. Tears of joys and will forever remember this.

Joseph Alejandro Rosenbaum 7 lb. 2 oz. 19 in.  7:47 p.m.

Being there makes me so grateful for all of our blessings. It also made me quite baby hungry. Having them live upstairs has helped me suppress those feelings by being able to hold him whenever I feel the need to have baby Joesph time.

Much needed update on our family and picture overload!

Up until the other day I was completely oblivious that I had pretty much abandoned my little family blog. That was until my cute friend said that she hadn't blogged for a while 2 months! um...my last post was January 2011 and it was lacking....

Reader's Digest version of the past...oh what? 8 months? geez....One child at a time.

Baby Zachariah turned a year old this July. Really? Cannot believe my baby is already old! He's been more advanced than Xander was (I blame it on Xander's tubes). Zac crawled at about 4 1/2 months and walked at eleven. He's still getting the hang of it, but is getting better. He's our little sweetheart baby. Only cries when he's hungry...which by the looks of him you'd think he'd had enough to eat. 30 lbs at 9 months old, the Doctor told me i need to cut back on the bottles for the poor guy. Apparently he was off the charts. How could you say No to that sweet face when he wants his food? Luckily he lost a pound at his 1 year appointment and things are looking up! Gotta love those chunky babies!!

Xander turned 2 in May and has finally started talking. I was beginning to think his ear infections had done permanent damage, but alas he has! He's still talking gibberish too but for the most part he can communicate finally! Xander is one tough little guy. Surprisingly he hasn't tried to escape his crib so he still remains in his crib jail and will until we trust him enough to have a big boy bed. guessing some of you moms are shaking your head thinking I'm crazy lol, eh, to each his own...

My Drama Queen Kymber. She's almost 5 and let me tell you, it has not been a walk in the park. Combine her age with her going back and forth from her real dad's house and ours and you get a nightmare. Learning two different sets of rules would be hard and coming back to our house with two other kids when  you just got used to being the center of attention would be hard to swallow I'm sure. We are slowly dealing with it one day at a time and hope that it'll calm down. Other than that she's a sweet heart. Kymber starts official pre school in September and she is beyond excited for it. Mom may be too. It's bittersweet. Zachariah and Kymber now share a bedroom which was iffy at first but now we are in the swing of things and it's nice not to have him cry in the mornings because he has kymber to entertain him until I get up. (the entertainment doesn't last long, but just long enough that I can take my time most mornings...)

I know you are mostly interested in my chit lens, but here is an update on me and the Mister.

I have not really done much at all other than doing my mommy and wifey things and keeping up with the \housework and meals. raising kids, you know, piece of cake.  I have been working on my dream since high school with is photography. Now, while I'm not great at it, everyone has to start somewhere! Slowly, but surely,  I'll be amazing.

Alan. Alan is going back to school for nursing at the end of this month. He's doing great and is pumped for it! After having some medical scares he has recently lost about 32 lbs so far by dieting hardcore. I have had to change my whole way of cooking. Mostly I have had to just cook two meals or have him cook his own meal. Im soo proud of him!
Picture is before majority of the weight loss....he's looking great!

As of now I vow to keep up with our blog...
