Spring Fever!!

Yesterday was perhaps one of the most beautiful days thus far this season. I try not to get my hopes up because I know it's Utah and it could snow any minute! But when you're forced ot use your sunglasses and turn up the A/C you know it's perfect outside. So Kymber and I decided to take a stroll down to Grandma and Grandpa Rosenbaum's. Kymber was soooo excited to get out and play in the sun!

6 month pregnancy update

Yesterday was my 28 week checkup at good ol' Aspen Womens' Center. I'm one of those girls who absolutely love going to her appointments.

Weight:
144 lbs. (gained 3 since last appointment which I swear I've gained more than that because of the way my clothes are fitting)

Blood Pressure: Perfect

Iron Level: Exactly where they wanti it to be now and I can now start taking my iron pills only every other day.

I was pretty worried abut the day that this little guy is due. May 21st because Alan's family is going away the weekend of the 22nd and Alan has National Guard the 16th and 17th. If I went into labor during the time he went there is no guarantee I could get ahold of him, plus he's be all the way in Lehi at Camp Williams. Really you just can never predict what your body will do.
I talked to Heather ( my nurse practitioner/nurse midwife) about my concerns and she said that if I haven't gone into labor by the 14th I could be induced on that day! yay. AND if I'm dilating before then she can strip my membranes to help me along as early as 38 weeks. Which is what will prob happen because it worked with Kymber. Needless to say I'm pretty stoked now and am more excited to have this little guy!
I know I just posted preggo pics but Ill post another one just because. =)

KFC...not for the weak in stomache.

You know when I was younger KFC was never my favorite place to eat. My family and I have occationally gotten it but it was never my first choice. I have grown to it and mostly just like their coleslaw...
well last night we were going over to our friends Adrian and Alisha Garlick to hang out and let Kymber play with their kids. We go over there often and switch off for dinner. It was our turn.
"How about KFC?" Alan texts me.
I say sure because what else are we going to bring tonight? Don't really feel like cooking. This is however a choice I will end up regretting.
The Garlicks say they'll go in on the hot wings there so we get an order of them. No problem.
We get to their house, we start eating. Everyone is almost done...until Alisha says "oh my gosh!" I'm glad I had had my camera with me to capture this moment...

Here is why she make that profound statement.

For those of you that don't understand..those are feathers. Yes feathers on those hot wings. We could not believe it. Veins and everything. We inspected the first and found more than we bargained for. Which made us all sick because needless to say we had already gobbled down a few.
We got Adrian to call KFC to see what they could do. Mostly just to see what they'd say and also cause he's a policeman in Lehi. We thought it would be funny if he just so happened to mention that too while talking to the KFC people.
Here is how the conversation basically went. Some things are omitted only because of the lady repeating herself.
Adrian- "Yes can I please talk to the manager?"
KFC-"This is she."
Adrian- "yes we wanted to call and let you guys know that we got some hot wings here that we ordered and my wife found feathers on them." "We want to know what you can do about it"

This is where tings get omitted cause it was boring and she kept repeating herself.

KFC-"yes I've seen feathers on them before" (ok so that's basically what she said. I'm not even kidding. Apparently they don't give a crap about their customers. And yes this lady goes on to have the nerve to ask us if we would like more hot wings. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Like we want them now. He of course explains that to her. I guess it was a hard concept to understand.
She ended up getting his name and said they would reimburse us for the food and more. Whatever more means.

The moral of the story is. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. You hear all these horror stories about fast food places and what they do. I became a victim of it.

Stay at home mom.

So I've been reading other peoples blogs and realized how boring my life really is. Seriously. What do I do with my little self all day?

1. Play with Kymber

2. Clean my house ( which by the way NEVER gets clean ironically) Then when I complain to Alan he say well what can I do? Do I need a chore I do everyday? (he's sincere mind you...) I then feel guilty for saying anything and say "NO no no no no, it's totally fine. It's what I'm supposed to do. Ill figure it out" WHY do I do this to myself?? Good husband. Wife can't make up her stinking mind.

3. Blog...I'm not as intersting as I'd hoped? Wanted? Thought I was? Story of my life. Hence this like blog I'm writing now. To fulfill a void in my life called BOREDOM

4. Play on facebook. yes, it is addicting. I like being able to write friends and connect with them even though I haven't seen them in how many years?? Or since we've graduated? What's this world coming to? Why ever get together with a friend if you can sit in the comfort of your own home and send them a message?

5. Instant message Kristen. Oh dear Kristen. The friend I talk to every single day. ( read #4) The friend I message every day but never see. What is it like we've hung out twice since Halloween? And you went to my wedding in June? Before that... Oh gosh prob when we worked at good ol' ShopKo together. Again. What is this world coming to??

6. Watch shows with Kymber. Yes. I have seen Barney a million times and I can quote the Barbie Christmas Carol movie not to mention sing every song...and I like one of them. Oh dear....motherhood right? Pretty soon I'll be playing trucks with little Xander and wonder what I did before I had kids.

Ok. I have more things I do at home. But I can't do too much seeing is that we have one vehicle. (It's a p.o.s by the way) that Alan has to drive for work. So when he gets home I sometimes leave to go to errands. Sad that grocery shopping is fun for me because I get out of this house.
Where is Spring??? So kymber can play in the yard and I can put the kids in a stroller and go for a walk. Stupid snow and cold weather. Can't get out.

God's Gift to Women

I haven't blogged for a while. This is the reason why.

No, this is not mine. This is my new nephew Skyler Jacob Rosenbaum, born to my little sister Anita. It was a pretty cool experience. I was there from the very begining and even was able to stay for the delivery. My sister let me cut his cord. Something I might never do, ever, in my life. I'm so grateful for this experience. It let me see birth from a whole different perspective.

I'm amazed at what Heavenly Father gave us women to ability to do. I often joke on how men couldn't do it ans women have a super human strength to. I'm sure that is true in some sense. This whole experience has made me grateful for my ability to bear children and to be able to be so fertile. By the looks of it, all I have to do is think I want another baby and I'm pregnant. For that I'm so grateful to be able to be apart of the circle of life and that God has entrusted me to rearing up His Children.
